2012 Cuvelier Los Andes EL

“92+ points.

“Bright, saturated ruby to the rim. Strong bitter chocolate oak and graphite minerality on the nose, along with primary aromas of crushed blackberry and licorice. Dense and plush, showing an enticing sweet/savory balance and lovely minty lift to the primary black fruit and spice flavors. This extremely unevolved wine has the energy for a slow and graceful evolution in bottle and its powerful, youthfully aggressive tannins demand patience. Less sweet than the 2012 Grand Vin but at least as long. Hiding more than it’s showing today.” – Vinous

“92 points.

“A big red, ripe and plush, with plenty of smoky notes to the roasted plum, dark cherry and mulberry flavors. Dark olive and dried green herbal notes dominate the finish. Malbec, Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon and Syrah. Drink now through 2020. 250 cases made.” – Wine Spectator
